If you think you might be pregnant, it’s understandable to want clarity as soon as possible. Whether you’re feeling nervous, hopeful, or somewhere in between, New Life Care Center offers a calm and supportive place to find out for sure.

We provide free, confidential, self-administered pregnancy tests, along with a caring advocate who will guide you through the entire process.

How Pregnancy Tests Work

Pregnancy tests detect a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). This hormone increases shortly after a fertilized egg implants in the uterus; however, the timing of testing matters. Testing too early or not following instructions carefully can lead to inaccurate results.

That’s why confirming your test at a center like ours can be so helpful. Our tests are ordered directly from a medical clinic to ensure accuracy. Our advocates will help ensure the test is completed properly, discuss the results with you, and answer any questions that may come up afterward.

When Should I Test?

It’s best to test at least one to two days after you’ve missed your period. Testing early may result in a false negative because hCG levels haven’t reached the threshold for detection.

Common early symptoms may include:

  • Missed period
  • Fatigue
  • Nausea
  • Tender breasts
  • Mood changes
  • Frequent urination
  • Bloating or mild cramping

However, symptoms alone can’t confirm pregnancy. A test is the best way to know.

What If My Test Is Positive?

If your test is positive, take a breath; you don’t have to figure out what comes next on your own. A positive test doesn’t confirm everything you need to know. You’ll still need information about:

  • How far along you are
  • Whether the pregnancy is viable (developing)
  • Whether this is a tubal or uterine pregnancy

Coming soon, we will offer pregnancy confirmation ultrasounds here at our Center.
